Thanksgiving Day Run & Food Drive!

We welcome runners, walkers, joggers and skippers! Bring your Family, a Neighbor, Kids in Strollers, or a Pet on a leash!

6:30 a.m. – On-site Registration begins at Memorial Park
7:00 a.m. – Live Music, T-shirt Pick-Up, Games
8:00 a.m. – Warm ups for 5K Race
8:30 a.m. – 5K Race Begins (Professionally Timed)
9:15 a.m. – Warm ups for Kids Mile
9:30 a.m. – Kids Mile Race - all participants will receive a medal!

Thanksgiving Morning

This 5K Run/Walk and 1 mile Kids Run has been a local tradition and a community favorite with families, athletes, and community supporters of all types for nearly two decades.

 

  •  REGISTER EARLY!  Early Bird Registration: $30.00
  • After September 30th - Regular Registration: $35.00
  • On-Site Registration: $40.00

  • All ages and abilities welcome!
  • The Race is professionally timed.
  • Awards, snacks & drinks will be provided to the participants. 
  • The event is short enough to make it back home in plenty of time to prepare for a Thanksgiving gathering. 
  • All participants need to bring a non-perishable food item. 
  • Pets on leashes and strollers are welcome.

 

 

About the Food Drive


We kindly ask participants to bring a non-perishable food item to the Thanksgiving Day Run to be dropped off at Memorial Park on Thanksgiving morning to be donated to families in need.

In past years, non-perishable donations have exceeded more than 10,000 cans, and this year, the Center hopes to have the biggest food drive La Cañada has ever seen!  With more than 1,500 participants each year, the Thanksgiving Day Run & Food Drive is an excellent chance to support your local 501(c)(3) nonprofit Community Center while helping others in the greater Foothills community.

 

How Can I Help?

Becoming a Volunteer is a rewarding experience. The Community Center of La Canada Flintridge depends on the help of volunteers for making this event cherished event come to life. A Word from the Community Center of La Canada Flintridge

The 5K Run and Food Drive is a major fundraiser for the Community Center of La Canada Flintridge as well as an opportunity for all to support a very worthy cause, squeeze in a workout and to donate non-perishable food  items to those in need. 


Proceeds will be used to support the many programs and services the Community Center of La Canada Flintridge offers.  In conjunction with the Run, the Community Center is excited to partner the La Crescenta Sheriff's Department for the Food Drive during the weeks that lead up to the race.

PARTICIPATION WAIVER

In consideration of you accepting my entry, I the undersigned, intending to legally bind myself and my heirs, executors, administrators, next of kin, and assignees, do hereby waive any and all rights and claims against any person or organization affiliated with the race. I agree to indemnify and hold harmless the CCLCF, the officials, the race organizers, and sponsors from any and all claims, actions, damages, liability, and expenses, including attorney fees, on and from that race.  I further attest that I am physically fit and have sufficiently trained for the race that I am entering and that my condition has been verified by a licensed medical doctor.
