Allen Koblin
Ara AslanianAra Aslanian is President of the Board for the Community Center of La Canada Flintridge. He attains an in-depth understanding of technology and e-Business strategies, Internet trends, customer practices, revenue models, and high-speed networks and systems security. Furthermore, he possesses strong project management and leadership skills. His experience in technology solution development has successfully lead multidisciplinary teams to craft and deliver innovative technology solutions that solve business problems for both private corporations and government agencies. His distinctive style of a team-oriented approach and utilization of detailed project methodologies has earned the trust and respect of clients, professional colleagues and employees. In addition to his day to day management of Inverselogic, Mr. Aslanian serves on the Board of Directors for Business Information Systems, Inc. a mobile technology solutions company based in Los Angeles, CA. Mr. Aslanian also served as the regional Scout Master for Homenetmen Western Region’s scouting division in charge of 14 western U.S.chapters with over 2000 scouting members. Homenetmen is affiliated with the Boy Scouts of America.
Carl ChristensenCarl was born in Utah and grew up in Indiana where he received a degree in Aeronautical Engineering from Purdue. He earned a Master’s degree from Caltech followed by a three-year tour with the Air Force. He lived in southern California for a few years before graduate school at Cornell where he received his PhD. A long career in spacecraft navigation at JPL followed including a year with NASA in Washington. Carl and Irene have been married for 49 years. La Canada has been their home since 1977. They raised three sons, all graduates of La Canada High School. Todd is a chef living in Bozeman, Montana with his wife, Nicole. Brian, a contractor, and his wife, Megan live in Mill Valley. Clay and Heidi and their family live in La Canada. Clay works for Bank of America in Pasadena. Carl and Irene have ten grandchildren. Irene and Carl love to travel; they have visited all 50 states and all but one continent. Skiing is a favorite pastime with Mammoth season passes every year. Carl’s building skills helped him with a major home remodel. A large new garage/workshop was finished three years ago. Carl pursues his woodworking skills in his new “studio”. He has been active in Kiwanis for the past fifteen years and was president 2008/2009. He is currently is Vice President of the La Canada Coordinationg Council.
Gayle Penrod Treasurer
Jim SmithJim Smith has a Master's Degree in Interior Design and is a licensed General Contractor. For 25 years, his company Plan-Spec has specialized in residential and commercial construction, custom home design & build, kitchen and bathroom remodeling, corporate tenant improvement construction and office planning. His clients include Fidelity National Information Systems (FNIS), Aramark, PETCO, Delta, Carl Karcher Enterprises (CKE) and hundreds of residential and commercial projects throughout southern California. Jim is also an active member of the Kiwanis Club of La Canada and a member of the La Crescenta, Montrose and La Canada Chambers of Commerce. Together with his wife Wendy, they run the annual Plan Spec Food and Clothing Drive benefitting the Midnight Mission on skid row in Los Angeles and sponsor numerous children through Child Plan USA. Kelly ArmalyVice President
Maureen Siegel SprowlesMaureen R. Siegel Sprowles has lived in La Canada Flintridge with her husband and son for over 21 years. A long time participant in the Community Center's Ceramics Program, Maureen's day job is Chief of Criminal Branch and Area Operations for the Los Angeles City Attorney's Office. In this capacity she oversees all Branch Courts, the Appellate Division, the Family Violence Unit, the Special Victims Unit, the Hearings Program, the Victim Witness Assistance Program, and the Academy of Justice. Maureen has served as a founding Board Member of the League of Women Prosecutors, a Trustee for the Child Educational Center, a member of the County-Wide Criminal Justice Coordinating Commitee, the Los Angeles City Domestic Violence Task Force, the Inter-Agency Council on Child Abuse and Neglect, the County Child Death Review Team, and the County Domestic Violence Death Review Team. Maureen is proud to have been a Board Member of the La Canada Flintridge Community Center since 2002. Maureen is a Phi Beta Kappa, Magna Cum Laude graduate of UCLA and the UCLA School of Law.
Mike Delaney
Mike LeiningerDr. Michael Leininger has been a La Cañada High School administrator for 26 years. He is in his seventh year as Assistant Superintendent, Facilities and Operations. His experiences as an educator range from teaching biology and physical education, coaching football, baseball and basketball, and also serving as activities director, athletic director, assistant principal, associate principal, principal and assistant superintendent. One of his greatest accomplishments however must be identified as “father.” He simultaneously wore the hat as his daughters’ high school administrator in charge of discipline during their high school years while at the same time chaperoning dances, carpooling their friends, helping out with homework, and helping to build the homecoming floats in his garage and front yard. Mike and his wife Nancy have been La Cañada residents for seventeen years and have become involved in a number of community groups: St. Bede’s church, LCF Tournament of Roses, Kiwanis, summer theater and certainly the LCHS fine arts and sporting events. These events have provided them with a full schedule and an exciting variety of things to do in our town. For fun and leisure, Mike has become an avid golfer and deep-sea fisherman. His family still takes top priority with yearly summer vacations on Catalina Island.
Rolando MoralesRolando Morales is Vice President of Gilmore Bank and Branch Manager of the organization’s banking office in La Cañada Flintridge. He has a distinguished 15-year bank management career in Southern California and played an integral part in the successful opening and growth of Gilmore’s LCF office. Prior to joining Gilmore Bank, he worked four years for Bank of the West in Pasadena. Rolando has an outstanding rapport with our business and personal customers and provides a level of customer service that is second to none. Morales received his associate’s degree from Pasadena City College and graduated from University of Phoenix with a bachelor’s degree in business management. He is a Los Angeles native and maintains a high level of community involvement.
Theresa Hendrickson has lived in La Canada for two decades. She currently is the Recording Secretary on the 2012-13 CCLCF Board of Directors. She holds a degree in Political Science from Queens College and a Masters in International Commerce from George Washington University. She enjoys spending time with her two daughters, traveling, and volunteering. Theresa grew up on the East Coast, has lived in the Midwest, and is proud to call the West Coast home.
